Local Attractions

The estate is located in the heart of the Roman Sabina, famous for its olive oil, but also for its archaeological and architectural heritage, as well as the unspoiled landscape of the Lucretili mountains.

People interested in Roman history can reach in 15 minutes Villa Adriana, residence of the emperor Adriano, (www.villaadriana.com), the most important villa of ancient times. Nearby you can also visit the suggestive Villa d’Este (www.villadestetivoli.info), masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance, a world heritage site (UNESCO).

Connoisseurs of Middle Ages and religious tourists can visit the Farfa Abbey (www.abbaziadifarfa.it), a Benedictine monastery of the 5th century, national monument since 1928. Here you can find a rare coexistence of unique Carolingian architecture and mystic silence of the Benedictine monasteries. In short, an atmosphere that is very far away from the cities’ chaos, but very close to the Agriturismo sul Colle (25 km).

The Agriturismo Sul Colle is located in the Monti Lucretili Reserve, an unspoiled protected area of 18 thousand hectares. The trekkers and hikers have the opportunity to discover the network of about 230 km of hiking trails (www.parcolucretili.it), just off the gate of the estate.

And then Rome. L’Agriturismo Sul Colle is the perfect base for day trips to the eternal city. It won’t take more than one hour between your last dip in the swimming pool and your visit to the Coliseum. If you do not want to drive  in Rome’s traffic, it is even more simple. From Pianabella Station (10 minutes drive from home), there is a train every 15 minutes, reaching the centre of Rome (Tiburtina Station) in 30 minutes.
